Looking for man pages inside synaptic, i found that interesting package: funny-manpages. It has some man pages for well-known commands, like rm, echo, date, and has some new commands, like baby, party and even rtfm!
For debian based distros, it’s enough to do: apt-get install funny-manpages.
Some man pages available after installation of above package: (try them with man <command>)
date
echo
party
rtfm
xkill
baby
…etc (To show the complete list: dpkg -L funny-manpages)
Have fun!
Also check out asr-manpages
I must admit, I am quite angry about this package. First, I had to laugh. But reading the man-page for the fake-command sex, you will find the following option:
-P pedophilia
So, WHAT THE HELL IS FUNNY ABOUT THAT?????
paschelino, you’re right. That’s a terrible thing to spread out.
I’m going to fill a bug report about that.
Thanks for point this out.
John, thank’s for reacting! Hopefully we, i.e. you and your readers, will not often be that badly surprised by the evil minds of others and what they think to be funny. Filing a bug report is an important step. But maybe it is equally important to speak about this to others in the open source scene.
What do you think?
